West Indies claimed a comfortable four-wicket victory over England in the opening T20 international in Bridgetown on Wednesday.
Andre Russell played a starring role for the hosts, taking three wickets for 19 runs with the ball and then hitting a crucial 29 not out from 14 balls to guide his side to victory with 11 balls to spare.
England had posted a competitive total of 171 for 9 after being sent in to bat. Phil Salt (40) and Jos Buttler (39) put on a 77-run opening partnership before the visitors lost wickets at regular intervals.
Rehan Ahmed impressed for England with the ball, taking 3 for 39 on his T20 international debut.

West Indiesand#39; chase got off to a shaky start, with Shamarh Brooks and Kyle Mayers falling cheaply. However, Shai Hope (36) and Brandon King (35) put on a crucial 68-run partnership to put the hosts back on track.
Russell then took center stage, launching three sixes in his late cameo to help West Indies over the line.

The victory gives West Indies a 1-0 lead in the five-match series. The second T20I will take place at the same venue on Friday.
